Parent Certified Peer Specialist-Greenville, GA

HOPE'SCorner Child and Adolescent Crisis Stabilization Unit (C&A CSU) is a twelve-bed, medicallymonitored, short term crisis stabilization program that provides psychiatricand behavioral stabilization for children and adolescents and detoxificationfor adolescents. The C & A CSU is designed to serve as a first line community basedalternative to hospitalization, offering psychiatric stabilization anddetoxification services on a short-term basis.
The Parent Certified PeerSpecialist assigned to HOPE'S Corner promotes consumerself-determination and decision-making and provides essential expertise andconsultation to the entire team to promote a culture in which each clients'point of view and preferences are recognized, understood, respected andintegrated into treatment, rehabilitation and community self-helpactivities. Duties include but are notlimited to the following:
Providessupport to parent/guardian who is raising a child living with mental health,substance abuse or co-occurring diagnosis.
Provides education and skillstraining to family members and other community partners involved inclient's treatment.
Participatesin daily team meetings.
Assists family and treatment team in individualized resiliencyplanning.
Providesfirst-hand experience about the recovery process, symptom management and thepersistence required by the clients to have a satisfying life.
Actsas liaison with community services, including warmtransitions, when appropriate, to lower levels of care.
Providespeer counseling, consultation, and support.
Actsas a consumer advocate.
Providescase management services.
Provides post-discharge follow-up calls to determine effectivenessof services and promote engagement in aftercare services. Completes documentation, as required, in the electronic healthrecord
Minimum Qualifications
Certification as a Parent Peer Specialist
Must have a valid driver's license
Bachelor's degree in a social services related field from an accredited college or university AND One year of experience in a social services related field OR High school diploma or GED AND Three years of experience in a social services related position OR One year of experience at the lower level Social Svcs Tech 2 (SST011) or position equivalent.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
