Education Services Supervisor- Greenville, GA

The Turner Center Intensive ResidentialProgram provides intensive residential mental health treatment and educationtargeted at restoring the competence of youths court-referred due toincompetence to stand trial (IST). The length of stay varies based on the uniquecircumstances surrounding each individual's case, including the sequence andoutcomes of his or her competency evaluations. The program operates 24 hours per day, 7 daysa week. The program provides room,board, and watchful oversight functions in addition to competency restorationinterventions in accordance with the State of Georgia's rules and regulations forChild Caring Institutions.
The HOPE'S Corner Childand Adolescent Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU)is a medically monitored, short term crisis stabilization program that providespsychiatric and behavioral stabilization for children and adolescents as wellas detoxification for adolescents. The goal of the program is to stabilizechildren and adolescents in the least restrictive environment, to assist incrisis resolution and to provide a comprehensive crisis community plan forstabilization that utilizes the child's/family's strengths, natural supports andcommunity resources.
Responsibilities for the Teacher include butare not limited to the following:
Providesdirect supervision to school Paraprofessionals, including maintainingparaprofessional schedules, reporting time, providing progressive discipline,completing annual performance evaluations, etc.
Developsand implements the annual school parent engagement program, includingfacilitation of parent-teacher conferences
Incollaboration with the Program Manager, develops the annual school calendar anddaily academic schedule
Withteam of paraprofessionals, develops and implements daily activity schedule forsummers and school breaks
Ensuresthe implementation of the program's life skills development program
Workswith Program Manager and Pathways Executive team to adhere to annual Title Ireporting and assessment processes
Workswith Program Manager and quality assurance team to track client progress andoutcomes related to academics and the school program
Workswith CSU Nurse Manager to provide an annual review of the CSU academic programand identify resources needed for the program
Assessesstudents and their educational needs by using appropriate screening procedures
Developsappropriate instructional/educational plans and utilizes supportive materialand tools to facilitate individual educational plans
Participatein IEP meetings, as required
Workswith case manager to ensure that grades, diplomas, etc. are forwarded to theindividual's next placement upon discharge
Overseesthe administration of norm-referenced exams per GA DOE
Ensuresthe proper completion of all assignments and tests before advancing students
Counselsand listens to students regarding academic behavior and challenges
Providesstudents with positive reinforcement for their efforts and achievements
Observationof behavior and ability to implement standard and appropriate consequences andrewards according to a standard behavior management system
Preparesand maintains all required reports, according to established time frames andfollowing applicable policies and procedures
Participatesin required staff meetings and training sessions
Entersdocumentation, as needed, into the youth's electronic record and provideperiodic reviews of paraprofessional documentation
Ensuresthat a member of the Educational Services Team attends transition groups, shiftexchanges and treatment team meetings
Providesindividual attention and assistance to meet the varied needs abilities ofstudents
Teaches and instructs through lectures,demonstrations, audio/visual aids, and educational software
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university OR recognized certification in the area of vocational assignment. Note: Positions may require area specific certifications.



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
